The Jump's celebrity bloodbath slides downhill. Episode 2. (review date 14.2.16)

Launching the bloodbath with a greeting to men only, deafening Davina McCall screamed: “Hold on to your helmets!”

To The Jump... where three years of talking up the injuries has been buried in the snow as Channel 4 desperately tries to talk them down.

After poor Beth Tweddle broke her back, for Davina to describe taking bone from her hip and fusing it into her neck as “routine surgery” was an affront to honest broadcasting.

In a solemn announcement, the foghornvoiced host added: “We use the very best safety experts to keep everyone as safe as possible.”

Tell that to Tina Hobley (arm fractured in two places), Mark Francis (broken ankle), Rebecca Adlington (dislocated shoulder) and all the other hospitalised contestants.

As this disastrously dangerous show descends into farce, on-piste guy Graham Bell is still revelling in the minor stars’ agony. Will someone please show him the memo.

Meanwhile watching sliding C-listers falling over remains relentlessly repetitive. No wonder the ratings are hurtling downhill.

Deluded Davina kids herself this isn’t the last series. Good luck with that.
