The best  I can describe this format is as patchy.

Morgana Robinson's Ferne Cotton

There's been a fair bit of media hype about this show and I was looking forward to seeing if the impressions matched up to the cleverly made up star in her various guises depicted in the mags and TV guides this week.
The answer is a resounding 'Kinda!'... The best I can describe this format is as patchy.

The setting, a talent agency, is spurious to say the least, but I suppose its as good a any as any to link Natalie Cassidy to Adele! Speaking of which, Adele impression is spot on and very convincing, the same of which cannot be said about the Natalie Cassidy skit. Why Morgana has chosen this as her star turn, making up the bulk of the 30 minute show, is unclear.

The voice works but nothing else does. The unfunny premise that she lives with her dad who likes chips. The fact that shes a downtrodden nobody with a habit of gurning mournfully at the camera. Didn't make my sides ache so much as my heart sink.
There are some really great moments.

Her Fearne Cotton and Joanna Lumley along with Adele are absolutely pitch perfect takes and her Miranda is funny. I liked the fact that she couldn't get along in serious stage drama without saying 'awkward!' at crucial silent moments. But that is slim pickings from a show with a lot of potential and a lady with obvious talent and comic ability

Forgive me father, for it has been several weeks since my last review.
Watching this is penance enough. After watching the glorious Cold Feet, this is a real mood hoover. If it wasn't for the commentary telling us who these characters were supposed to be, I would have needed a few minutes to have a guess.
The Natalie Cassidy impression was quite good but popped up far too often. The Cheryl Cole was abysmal and it was difficult to determine whether she was from the North East or Belfast. As for Danny Dyer ... it was dire, Miranda was truly awful too.
If you want to find a master of impressions, watch Nurse with Paul Whitehouse. He doesn't do famous people, just plain, normal, everyday folk with a story to make you laugh or cry. Thought provoking and heart wrenching, a far more worthy way to spend 30 minutes.

I was looking forward to this show, Morgana is a talented lady there is absolutely no doubt about that. When she appeared in House of Fools with the legends Vic n Bob I thought she was brilliant.I will admit that House of Fools was not everyone taste but we thought it was hilarious. Sadly this talent show themed show featured very little talent, I switched it off after ten minutes. There are much better things to watch on the box these days than this.

Sadly the talents of Morgana are not being given the chance to fully shine in this series. If you have seen one programme you don't need to watch the rest as they just repeat the characters. Why not let Morgana have a show where her unique talents can gain exposure .... I recall her earlier films of the granddad and young boy - super.
