Scary landing in St Maarten airport

Channel 5’s Super Scary Plane Landings featured the horrific ordeal of the terrified tourists on board a Las Vegas bound Virgin Atlantic flight that flew into trouble over the Bristol Channel.

After jettisoning 100 tons of fuel and deliberately nose-diving the plane in a bid to shake down the faulty landing gear, the pilot headed back to Gatwick. Where, sure enough, only three of the four sets of wheels were working.

With the crew yelling “head down, feet back” the 400 passengers adopted the brace position and prepared for the worst. One tyre burst but, miraculously, the stricken Jumbo Jet landed safely.

Then the hero pilot’s immortal words: “Everyone’s 100 per cent safe now so, you know, chill out… relax.” Yeah, I’m sure they were all feeling really laid back

Packed with similar nightmare near-death experiences, this “all new” hour long shock-umentary was compelling plane-crash TV. It should do wonders for the train and boat travel industries.
