The Grand Tour (Amazon Prime Video) This is the TV event of the year. Episode one sees Clarkson and Co’s new vastly improved Top Gear set out on its epic global journey. Has the BBC been seriously outmanoeuvred? Will Amazon Prime’s astonishing £160 million pay off? You decide.

Children In Need 2016 (BBC1, from 7.30pm & BBC2, 10pm) The first telethon since the death of its long-term presenter Terry Wogan earlier this year. Tess Daly and Greg James introduce the fundraiser with all the usual stunts: EastEnders, Doctor Who, Graham Norton and Pudsey Bear. Later Michael Bublé, Ellie Goulding and Take That and Russell Kane join in the line-up to raise money for a worthy cause. But is it worth watching?

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! (ITV, 9pm) The producers are planning a Hunger Games-style trial in tonight’s episode, but presumably no one dies. Perhaps newcomers Danny Baker and Homes Under The Hammer’s Martin Roberts will shake it up a bit. The camp mates are being far too chummy and it’s  high time they had a row, or at least a bit of a bitch about who's not pulling their weight.
