Six Wives With Lucy Worsley (BBC1, 9pm) Dramatised account of the dangerous lives of Henry XIII’s many wives augmented by historian Lucy’s expert analysis. Episode one chronicles Catherine of Aragon’s emotional trauma as she struggled to bear the monarch a son, only to be cruelly rejected when she delivered a daughter.
In Plain Sight (ITV, 9pm) Start of a three part drama based on the true story of Scottish detective Bill Muncie’s quest to bring killer and rapist Peter Manuel to justice. The first instalment unfolds in 1955 when Manuel is released from jail after serving a nine year sentence for housebreaking and sexual assault. It isn’t long before he returns to his evil ways. Stars Douglas Henshall as the dogged copper and Martin Compston as the diabolically clever Manuel.
The Big Life Fix With Simon Reeve (BBC2, 9pm) Host Reeve recruits a team of technicians and engineers to help desperate people in need of inventive solutions. Including a terminally ill photographer and the cut-off residents of a remote Welsh village who can’t get phone signals or the internet.
