What to watch and review on Thursday, July 21.
EastEnders (BBC1, 7.30pm) TV to commit suicide to as Albert Square’s Cockney rabble deal with the latest of their many tragedies. Our thanks to the depressing Walford gang for bringing a ray of darkness to the summer.
Celebrity MasterChef (BBC1, 8pm) As the little known remaining minor stars reach the semi-finals it’s the cooking-for-hundreds-outside-in-a-tent bit. Meanwhile, gurning Gregg Wallace pulls faces and John Torode says “it’s a very lovely thing”. A lot.
Coronation Street (ITV, 8.30pm) More hilarious over-acting as the cobblestones crew string out the melodrama after the death of crazy Kylie. And Simon decides that former prostitute Leanne is dying. It’s worse than that. She’s pregnant.
New Blood (BBC1, 9pm) Last of a decent series as crime-busting buddies Rash and Stefan take on the forces of evil at a corrupt children’s charity. Should this superior drama return?
