MasterChef the Professionals

MasterChef: The Professionals (BBC2, 8pm) The show that proves that so many pro chefs are rubbish and expects us to endure host Gregg Wallace going solo without the much-needed help of the far more expert John Torode. Tonight, six hopefuls tackle the culinary complexity of sea bass ceviche (shove fish in lime juice, leave for a bit, remove) before preparing their own signature dish.

Ordinary Lies (BBC1, 9pm) Series two has been a disappointment. Too depressing. But tonight a chance to see two TV favourites. Former EastEnders star Matt Di Angelo takes on the role of warehouse worker Caz who has a difficult relationship with his estranged father Patrick, played by Griff Rhys Jones.
