What to watch and review this weekend
What to watch and review on December 3 and 4.
SATURDAY
Strictly Come Dancing (BBC1, 7pm) Now that comedy contestant Ed Balls has waltzed back to ballroom obscurity the competition gets serious. Or does it get a lot less entertaining? You decide.
The X Factor (ITV, 8pm) Dad dancer Dermot O’Leary hosts the semi-final as the last four wannabes sing for a place in next week’s grand finale. Who will make the grade and who will fall at the penultimate hurdle? Do you care?
Michael McIntyre’s Big Show (BBC1, 8pm) It has roundly beaten The X Factor in the ratings war for two weeks running. Will it win again? And does it deserve to?
SUNDAY
Strictly Come Dancing: The Results (BBC1, 7.20pm) Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman host and – even worse – Elaine Paige sings. Only joking! Ballroom brilliance, the latest elimination and Don’t Cry For Me Argentina… what’s not to like?
Planet Earth II (BBC1, 8pm) The fifth instalment of a sensational series that has consistently pulled in a substantially larger audience than The X Factor. Sir David Attenborough’s wildlife spectacular or Simon Cowell’s karaoke capers? No contest.
Escape To The Chateau (Channel 4, 8pm) More renovation fun and games as likeable TV host Dick Strawbridge and his wife Angel continue to restore a dilapidated French mansion to its former glory.
I’m A Celeb (ITV, 9pm) This is it… the moment of truth. The grand finale as we find out who will be King or Queen of the Jungle. The answer is Scarlett Moffatt. Nail biting stuff. How do rate this series? Did you enjoy the luvvie-fest? Or did you yearn for a spot of Lady C style conflict?
