All Round To Mrs Brown’s (BBC1, 9.15pm) New chat show starring TV’s top cross-dresser Brendan O’Carroll’s creation Agnes Brown and her pretend daughter Cathy, played by Jennifer Gibson. After Cathy interviews the celebrity guests, Agnes takes them off for a far more intimate conversation away from the cameras. Sort of. Tonight’s glittering line-up includes Pamela Anderson, Louis Walsh, tennis mum Judy Murray and her mum Shirley.

SUNDAY

Top Gear (BBC2, 8pm) Episode four of the series no one is talking about. In tonight’s low octane offering Matt LeBlanc and Chris Harris race across the Arabian Peninsula in a Bugatti. Rory Reid puts the Renault Twingo GT through its paces. And Tinie Tempah hits the track in the reasonably fast Toyota GT86. Great.

Line Of Duty (BBC1, 9pm) Switching from BBC2, here comes series four of TV’s best cop drama. Thandie Newton stars as DCI Roz Huntley on the trail of a serial killer rapist. After she clashes with her forensic officer Tim Ifield – played by the excellent Jason Watkins – Roz finds herself at the centre of an investigation by the anti-corruption squad. At the end of a brilliantly compelling first episode, prepare yourself for a jaw-dropping final scene.
