I really wanted to be cutting, I was looking forward to slate, to moan, groan, yawn, whine, and pour total scorn all over Saturday night's final of Britain's Got Talent. After all; it's traditional.

Winner Tokio Myers with Ant & Dec

I really wanted to be cutting, I was looking forward to slate, to moan, groan, yawn, whine, and pour total scorn all over Saturday night's final of Britain's Got Talent. After all; it's traditional.

But I couldn't.

For once BGT has had quite a good crop this year. It just goes to show that even a talentless, talent starved so called talent show, can get it right.

There's an old saying, "Even a complete fool can be right, by chance." I guess this was BGT's moment?

I must admit I was surprised Tokio Myers won even though on reflection he was a worthy winner with his unique performance of piano and percussion however, I was disappointed for 8 year old witch, Issy Simpson, who unfortunately came 2nd.

Mind you; to be 8 years old, and finishing second in what is considered by some as the biggest talent show ever, won't be a bad thing I suppose to have on your showbiz CV.

I thought Ned Woodman was rubbish. For me he got so boring so very quickly, I went and made myself a cuppa, and then went out to my back yard for a naughty ciggy.

Ooh tut tut Andy! I don't smoke many, honest guvnah!

And I wasn't overly impressed with Matt Edwards either. His kids stuff seaside end-of-the-pier humour, is just not for me. But I did agree with head judge Simon Cowell when he said Edwards would be great as a kids gameshow host.

I thought the Mersey Girls were good and I was a tad disappointed when the results came in, when they only got 9th place.

DNA were great, apart from the cock-up at the end, but please don't ask me how the heck they did it, I haven't got a scooby-doo.

So too; did I enjoy the Pensionalities. Maybe it's just my age but there was something rather lovable about these two old farts who simply love to sing, which appealed to me.

They made me smile.

The Missing People's Choir, in my opinion the hot favourites to win, only managed to make 8th place when the results came up, despite what I thought was a very impressive and moving performance.

Stand-up Comic Daliso Chaponda who came third was hilarious.

The singers Kyle Tomlinson and wild card Sarah Ikumu were very good and I did wonder why they never tried for a shot on The X Factor. I have no idea if they would have won but I did feel that although they were good, they were on the wrong show?

So there you have it, another Britain's Got Talent show over for another year and as I said earlier, I was hoping to slate it, I usually do, but on this occasion (must be a blue moon) I couldn't.

It was dare I say it, for the most part, entertaining?

And in the light of recent events in Manchester, I think we could all do with something which may help us temporarily forget our troubles and worries, and remember; not everyone, is bad.

Britain's Got Talent? Yes. I think they indeed,
finally found some.

Must be a miracle!

Thanks for reading.

Unfortunately many of the contestants do not have talent. Absolute garbage - even watching the appalling contestants is no longer funny so never bother to watch now. It has had its day - time it was dispatched to the dustbin of has-beens!
