Can the famous management team help the club secure promotion? It’s tough at the bottom.

On the case: Clare-Hope Ashitey, James Murray and Damien Molony

By Knoxxy

Stumbled across this show by accident...much like how the actors appear to have approached their scripts. It's all supposed to sound like natural speech, but I found the improvised dialogue, liberally smattered with.......unnatural pauses, and too many umms and aahs, a bit annoying - to the point that I wanted to smash my tv.

EastEnders: Honey finds Jay's drugs

Oh my God! The horror! Billy’s in a towering rage. Honey is spectacularly unravelling. Roxy’s reeling. The whole world is falling apart at the seams. Albert Square’s crazy Cockneys are in a state of unprecedented shock.

And what is the cause of this seismic unrest? Sit down and pour yourself a drink. Because this is certain to rock you to the core. Wait for it… Jay has been doing a bit of coke. Snorting a line or two of nose candy. Er… that’s it.

Spotless

By OhThisBloodyPC

Spotless is a thriller about a professional crime scene cleaner Jean who gets reluctantly roped in to work for a mobster.

There are no star names in it. So nobody’s asking us to believe that Dr Who or that nice lady from Peep Show are hard bitten detectives. So there are plausibility barriers to overcome. There’s no man killing of women and children so that luvvy detectives can get to look disgusted about the awfulness of men.

Well, that’s me as a devoted follower already.

Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins in The Great British Bake Off

The Great British Bake Off (BBC1, 8pm) Here we go. Baking in a tent. Wow. Even better, Mel and Sue’s saucy but cosy double-entendres. Hilarious. Judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood preside as another 12 hopefuls compete in a contest that for some reason grips the nation. This is Britain’s most popular programme. No one knows why. Fasten your seatbelts… it’s Cake Week. Crumbs.

The Great British Bake Off: Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry

By Andy Simon

It's back again; and I simply cannot believe it!

I would have thought that after the sixth series, the BBC ovens would have packed up by now. But no.

They're still going strong and so too is this immensely boring, tediously tiresome and grossly over baked cake making show.

Yes; The Great British Bake Off is back, for the 7th time.

I mean please; don't get me wrong. Baking, like anything else done in the kitchen is a real skill, and to those of you that have this "Baking Bug", I salute you . . . sort of.

500 Questions and Spotless. ITV’s dazzling double bill bores for Britain

Spotless

Which is worse? ITV’s new quiz show 500 Questions or ITV’s new game show Spotless? Hard to say. Let’s call it a deadbeat heat. They’re both awful.

Make that 502 questions. Because I’ve got two more. What the hell is this mundane confusathon doing clogging up the airwaves at prime time? And why on earth is gastro-geek Giles Coren hosting the damn thing? He’s like his late, great dad Alan without the humour and his sister Victoria minus the charm.

Highly recommended! Watch and review One Of Us

One Of Us

One Of Us (BBC1, 9pm) A newlywed couple who met when they grew up on adjoining remote farms in the Scottish Highlands are brutally murdered in their Edinburgh flat. So what do their grieving families do when the killer mysteriously arrives on their doorstep? The scene is set for a fantastically intriguing first episode. Stars Julie Graham and Juliet Stephenson. Highly recommended.

There's no answer to 500 Questions.

Giles Coren in 500 Questions

By Walter White

As with the Dimbleby clan, the Corens --- Giles and Victoria – owe much of their upwardly mobile careers to the name bestowed on them by their famous father. Following in the large footsteps of the late and lamented humourist Alan, the ultra-competitive siblings started off writing columns in national newspapers—like Dad--- before sliding effortlessly into television and radio---like Dad.
